Get Help Report a Concern

Privacy notice

What we collect when you use this site, why, and for how long. In short: as little as possible.

The short version

  • Our public pages set no cookies, run no analytics or advertising scripts and never ask for your location.
  • You can use Get Help and Report a Concern without giving us any information about yourself.
  • If you write to us, your message is encrypted as soon as it arrives and deleted after 180 days unless we are still dealing with it.

Who is responsible

KIFOV is an initiative in formation and is not yet a registered legal entity. Until it is, the people running KIFOV are responsible for the data described here and can be reached through our contact form. When KIFOV is registered, this notice will name the organisation and its address.

When you browse the site

  • Server logs. Like almost every website, our server records technical information about each request: the page requested, the time, your IP address and your browser type. We use these logs only to keep the site running and secure (for example, to deal with attacks). They are kept for a limited period and are not used to identify or profile visitors.
  • Network provider. The site is delivered through Cloudflare, which processes the same technical information to protect the site against attacks and to deliver pages quickly.
  • Hosting. The site runs on a server operated by Vultr.
  • No tracking. We do not use Google Analytics, advertising pixels, social media trackers or any similar tool.
  • Searches on this site are not stored.

When you use Get Help or Report a Concern

The choices you make (a situation, a country) are used only to show you the right page. They appear in the page address so that you can go back to them; we do not store them against you. We never use your location.

When you write to us

  • What we collect: the category you choose, the email address you give, and anything you choose to write, including an optional name and organisation.
  • How it is protected: the message is encrypted on arrival with a key that the public website does not hold. It can be read only by authorised members of the team in our editorial system, which requires two-factor authentication, and every time a message is opened it is logged.
  • Why: to answer you and to deal with what you raised. We do not add you to any mailing list.
  • How long: 180 days, then deleted automatically, unless we are still working on the matter.
  • Cookie: the contact form sets a temporary session cookie needed to protect the form against forgery. It is deleted when you close your browser.

Please do not send us information that identifies a child. If you do, we will delete it.

Your rights

You can ask us what we hold about you, and ask us to correct or delete it, through the contact form. Quote the reference number you received if you have one. Depending on where you live, you may also have the right to complain to your data protection authority.

Changes

We will update this notice when our practices change, and show the date of the last revision at the bottom of the page.
